Could New Medicare At 50 Bill Save You Big Money - Career Pivot
Could New Medicare At 50 Bill Save You Big Money - Career Pivot Medicare at 50 The vast majority of us have found out about Bernie Sanders' proposed Medicare for All enactment. This would make a solitary payer all inclusive medicinal services framework here in America where everybody would approach free Medicarewith no cost-sharing or premiums.Sanders' billwould be a far reaching development to America's social insurance framework and there are worries about the assessment builds that may be required to make this bill a reality. However, did you realize that there's another proposed charge that would keep Medicare like it is presently yet permit American to get tied up with it as right on time as age 50? This bill, proposed bySenator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and severalDemocraticco-sponsors,would empower people matured 50 â" 64 to buy a private Medicare protection plan, along these lines offering an option to the frequently expensive Affordable Care Act plans. Individuals selecting into Medicare ahead of schedule under this new enactment wouldgain access to increasingly reasonable medicinal services when numerous individuals most need it.This bill makes certain to acquire perceivability as we head into the 2020 political race cycle, so how about we audit a portion of the key takeaways. Would Covera Key Segment ofOlder Americans Under the current ACA enactment, individuals matured 50+ compensation probably the most elevated premiumsin the individual medical coverage marketplace.Whenan more established Americanloseshis or herjobor can just look for some kind of employment that doesn't offer medical advantages, a costly ACAhealth insuranceplan isdifficult to pay for. Thus, they oftenchooseplans with exceptionally high deductibles just so they can bear the cost of the protection, or they manage without inclusion altogether, which implies we despite everything have theongoingproblem of an enormous gathering of Americansbeinguninsured. By offering these people a chance to become tied up with Medicare early, administrators plan to help early retirees gainmoreaffordable human services coverage. After all, Medicare pays clinical suppliers lower charges than private medical coverage transporters, so it makes sense that getting tied up with Medicare early would bring about huge premiums investment funds for more seasoned Americans. There is additionally potential that this enactment could bring down the normal cost of ACA designs by and large as more seasoned people would basically leave the hazard pool. This could then make medicinal services premiums for more youthful individuals increasingly moderate as well. Proceeds with the ACA Subsidies The Medicare at 50 enactment would likewise keep on permitting people to profit by the ACA charge credits and cost-sharing sponsorships. Under Obamacare, people with livelihoods under a specific level as of now fit the bill for premium assessment credits. These credits can be applied straightforwardly against the expense of their health care coverage premiums, subsequently decreasing what they pay on a month to month basis.Under Medicare at 50, these equivalent individuals could apply their duty credits to their picked Medicare plan, making premiums which are as of now expected to be lower considerably progressively moderate. CouldGainHigher Public Support Another key factorinthe possible accomplishment of thislegislation is that it might increase higher help from thegeneralpublic. After all,Medicare is a well known program and this bill would give more Americans access to it. Tune in to the latest scene It's a less-far reaching development than Medicare for All and surveying shows that Americans bolster the possibility of an open protection alternative that would contend with private plans over the possibility of a solitary payer framework. It's likewise conceivable that Democratic lawmakers will have the option to increase some Republican help for this bill when the nation is confronted with the option of Medicare for All. It's a more humble change than Sander's call for consummation private protection as we probably am aware it and it would be generally financed by individuals paying premiums to get tied up with Medicare as opposed to definitely raising taxesto pay for a national social insurance framework. The Opposition Undoubtedly, not every person bolsters the possibility of Medicare at 50. Opponentsare concernedthat emergency clinics particularly would experience the ill effects of the lower repayments for the patients that they treat.Withalreadyslim overall revenues for Medicare patients, there is stress that the nature of intense consideration offered by these emergency clinics would endure. Back up plans are another gathering that might be probably not going to help the enactment. Numerous safety net providers dread that Medicare at 50 would be only the initial phase in an elusive incline that at last prompts general social insurance run by the national government. With no spot at the table in such a situation, we can expect numerous insurance agencies to campaign against the enactment. On the other side, a few Democrats feel that Medicare at 50 just wouldn't go far enough to spare medicinal services in America. They feel it is toolikethe Medicare at 55 bill that was offered before and didn't pick up footing. These rivals need to push for widespread payer atan cost. What at last will occur with this enactment is not yet clear yet you can expect Medicare and social insurance change to be a hotly debated issue with presidential up-and-comers in the 2020 decisions, so stay tuned. Find out what they're considering. Did they have a foul expertise? Could you invite them in for a tour to see how your organization has developed? Can they be invited to talk to your new Director? If they do like your group, be persistent as to why they could have said no: Is the timing incorrect? Ask them when a great time would be for you to return. Is the quantity an excessive amount of? Could they pledge the amount and consider paying it off over several years? Are they concerned with other organizations? Perhaps a joint project with another organization is a chance; is there someone at that organization with whom you can speak? Donât mechanically give up. four. Usually donors are very generous, theyâre requested to provide throughout city. Why would they provide to me? They usually are not giving to you, they're giving via you. What Happens When You Apply Online - Blog Job Hunting Career Management Solutions
What Happens When You Apply Online We hope, when we apply online that someone is eagerly waiting to read every word of our carefully crafted resume. It is highly unlikely an actual person is reading any of it, at least on the initial screening. Because companies continue to be inundated with resumes, more and more employers are turning to applicant tracking systems (ATS) to manage the volume and weed through all the applicants. What does that mean for job seekers? Here is a summary of what I have learned. Why are they used? ATS allow employers to manage large amounts of information, track every communication with a job applicant, as well as a consolidated view of all applicants against a job with the ability to build and track pipelines of talent. Additionally, they allow for better management of the interview process and help comply with legal requirements. How do these tracking systems work? When searching the database for candidates to fit a particular job posting, they can select an important keyword or phrase directly from the job description, and enter it into the ATS. The ATS will then search the database and return the resulting resumes to me, and this process can be repeated numerous times with different keywords or phrases. What document formats can applicant tracking systems scan? According to our experts, most systems can scan text and Word formats; some cannot scan Word 2007, PowerPoints, or PDFs. What should job seekers do in order to get their resumes noticed by the ATS? Customize the resume for each position: extensively tweak your resume for every job and make sure you weave common keywords throughout the resume as often as possible. Keep job titles fairly generic. Avoid using job titles that are too specific. Keep resume formatting to a minimum. Certain design features such as italics, bolding, and underlining can substantially increase the error rate on a system. Radical resume designs similarly are also off-limits because anything the ATS wasnt programmed to look for will not be recognized. One suggestion might be to electronically submit your resume in Word and in a standard format, and save the pretty one you formatted for the live interview, since most of these characteristics were made to make the human reading experience more pleasant and exciting. Avoid functional resumes. Functional resumes are very difficult for the technology to read. Use the more traditional chronological format for optimal results. Include full keywords and their abbreviated formats. Some of the words or phrases listed on the job description can also be abbreviated; for example, Sarbanes Oxley can be abbreviated as SOX and accounts payable is often referred to as AP. Play it safe and include both versions in your resume. Professionals recognize that are drawbacks: Often your resume isnt seen by a live person if it doesnt make it past the ATS screening process. While there are many advantages, the real downfall with ATS is that they are not able to quantify the intangibles that candidates bring to the table or skills that may be equivalent or transferable enough to make their resume worth reviewing. The best way to make sure your intangibles are recognized is to spend the required time researching where you would like to work and networking your way into the organization. Once you have a referral into that organization, the ATS will allow those that are aware of you to search by name. Thats a better way to get noticed and land the interview.

How To Visualize Your Way To Success
How To Visualize Your Way To Success How To Visualize Your Way To Success Listen to Podcast Now: Listen in iTunes Download Audio File PODCAST SUMMARY Have you ever felt like you were driving through your life or your career with the emergency brake on? It feels as if no matter how hard you work at something, youâre simply not progressing as quickly as youâd like? Today, I want to talk about a daily exercise Iâve practiced religiouslyâ"visualization. And, provide some insight into how to visualize your way to success. Five minutes of this every day will improve your life dramatically. When did that gray hair and eye wrinkle show up? I never notice my face change from day to day. Only when I look at pictures from a few years back can I see the transformation. Much of your life is like this. Your career is like this. Your marriage can be like this. While most people prefer to slow the aging process, many want to accelerate their lives and careers. Much like the unnoticeable change with age, your progress from day to day becomes imperceptible. Oftentimes, youâll feel better about your advancements if you take time to look back at where you were one, three, and five years ago. Thatâll help your psyche a bit. Iâm sure many of you are like me. You feel where youâve been is history. You care more about getting where youâre goingâ"and you want to get there in a hurry! First Step: Before you look forward, take a deep breath and spend a few moments realizing (yesâ"realizing) how far youâve come and all youâve accomplished. In fact, spend a few minutes every day doing this. Whatâs the best way to get from where I am to where I want to go? There are few key principles to understand to help you quickly get from where you are to where you want to go: Identify where you want to go. Make sure youâre working toward something you love. Believe you can accomplish it. Identify. The first is youâll get where youâre going faster if you know where you want to go. It also helps to know where you are. Donât laugh. Most people are in a much better starting position than they realize. Love. The second is youâll make greater leaps in life by doing small things you love than doing big things you donât. You need to enjoy yourself each day because your passion and optimism will fuel getting things done. Most importantly, donât let what you can do stop you from doing what you were meant to do! Believe. The third is you need to believe you can get there and be unafraid to jump in! At least once a day, I think about this fantastic quote from American Naturalist and Essayist John Burroughs. He said, âLeap, and the net will appear.â (If youâre really ambitious, check out The Art of Seeing Things: Essays by John Burroughs and Youâll See it When You Believe it by Wayne Dyer.) You believe it. Then it happens. Itâs never the other way around. Whereâs the 5-minute thing you promised me? Iâm in a hurry⦠Okay antsy pants. Visualize yourself at your end-state even though you donât know how to get there. Imagine yourself at your âdestination.â Whatâs it like? How does it feel? How does it sound? What will the end-state allow you to do? Imagine this for five minutes. Itâs okay to dream, but youâre more likely creating a reality. âFive minutesâ means you can do this in the shower, on the train, or wherever. Itâs best to do it in a quiet location. This visual of you in all your glory will have pull powerâ"itâll feel like itâs pulling you toward it. In actuality, youâll be pushing yourself toward it one step at a time. There are really only two steps required for the greatest level of success: the next step and the extra step. You simply need to know what you need to do next to move toward your destination. Putting a little extra effort along the way will separate you from the masses who are unwilling to do that. Picture the end-state, what itâs like, how it feels, how it sounds, and what it will enable you to do. You need to do this repetitively as you work toward this transition and evolution. That will help you do this one-day at a time. Then take what youâve identified as the next step. And take it. One step at a time. One fantastic resource to help you visualize your future is Living Forward: A Proven Plan to Stop Drifting and Get the Life You Want. Itâs a great book by Michael Hyatt and Daniel Harkavy. I hope you enjoy it. As always, Iâd love to hear you: What are your best techniques for progressing in life? Like this episode? Please share it via social media and review it on iTunes! Want more advanced material? Join the milewalk Academy and grab some of the free offerings that support the instruction in this post! BONUS SECTION: The Example from My Life Hereâs how I visualize. Twelve years ago, I changed professions. I left a corporate position as an Information Technology and Management Consultant to become a professional recruiter. I shared some of this in The Secret to Avoid Career Stagnation. (Check out The First Thing To Do When You Want To Change Careers.) At the time, I knew I loved helping people. I felt then (and still do) my purpose was to become a premier source of help for people who want to improve their careers and lives. (See How to Find Your Purpose in Fewer than 600 Words and 7 Signs You Found Your Purpose, and The 4 Must Doâs To Fulfill Your Purpose.) I knew when I started; I could help many by working with them to secure new career opportunities. Iâd also provide guidance to others who I couldnât âplaceâ in new jobs. This combination of people numbered in the several hundreds in my first year in business. Good start! At this point, I started visualizing myself helping tens of thousands. I imagined it even though I didnât know how. More phone calls wasnât the answer because there simply wasnât enough time. As I continued to visualize over the years, the number of people Iâd help kept growing. I wanted to help hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions of people. I started to envision ways to communicate with themâ"blogging, writing books, and speaking. Then I just started doing those things, even if I wasnât proficient yet. Before I knew what hit me, I was on the radio and TV. How did that happen? I began visualizing speaking to larger audiences. I would need to reach these people more easily. Better yet, can I figure out how to get them to find me? Whatâs this social media stuff? What are Search Engine Optimization, Webinars, and these other mediums? As you witness the transformation, your visualizations become more real. The picture becomes clearer. Most importantly, you need to believe in your ability to make it happen. You believe it. Then it happens. Itâs never the other way around.

Homeschooling Youve Got This
Homeschooling You've Got This Homeschooling: Youve Got This 24 Mar 2020 Ewan Anderson The first thing to say on this subject is â" you can do this. Just remember; you are not a teacher and no one is expecting you to be. However, in what are truly exceptional circumstances, we all must pull together and give it our best shot. So, we have compiled some ideas that will help you to occupy and educate the children while you try to keep up with your own work. Find Your Own Way There are two basic approaches to tackling home schooling. You can take a more structured approach, or you can adopt an autonomous mindset to your âteachingâ. Neither is wrong, it is a purely personal preference and will likely depend on the age and stage of your children. A structured approach involves following, where possible, the school timetable and curriculum. This will tie in with the work sent home by the school and help with reintegration when the children return to full-time education. If you prefer a slightly more relaxed approach your teaching, enabling the children to learn by exploration and their own endeavours - by all means give it a shot. Neither approach is wrong and it is unlikely your children will fall to far behind either way. Plan Your Week Whatever approach you take it will be worth crafting a plan. This may seem obvious - and is almost certainly something you do on a regular basis at work - but the scope of your weekly work schedule needs to include a teaching plan. Take some time to plan your week and include you children in this. Ask them about the tasks they want to cover and when they would normally do them at school. This is going to be hard enough, but if you are following a less structured approach and you have to spend time thinking up the next task while you have phone calls to make and emails to answer it is going to become a nightmare. Perhaps on a Sunday afternoon, just sit down with the kids and all the resources you have home from the school and plan out what the week looks like. It is important to try and maintain some level of routine even if you are adopting a more child-autonomy approach. Weâre not suggesting they have to turn up to the dining room âdeskâ with a school uniform on but look at maintaining a break time and lunchtime will help structure their day. Try to have a finishing time around normal school hours and give the kids a break. Remember, theyâre not âworkinâ nine to fiveâ. Get Creative There is a general rule of thumb that you should focus on the core subjects; maths and English. While this is obviously very important, you need to leave some room for creativity. While this is not everyoneâs strong suit - and there is a reason we are not all teachers - challenging the creative side of their little minds will keep them occupied for quite a while. However, be prepared for the mess and donât get stressed out about it. Perhaps you could help them feel at home in this new school by creating a new school badge. Ask them to name the school and design the uniform. For the slightly older kids look at gamification. How can you encourage a bit of competition with a prize at the end? Creative learning, while it may not seem like learning to you and I, is what inspires the mind and retains their attention. You could of course take it to the next level and introduce them to the real world as this ingenious mother tried to do with an educational plan centred around housework! Encouragement is key Your kids will be finding this every bit as weird as you are finding it. While you are maybe juggling a number of issues in terms of work and other stresses, it is important your children feel they are doing well. Encourage them and reward success. Remember growth is success and they will all be at different levels that you perhaps donât quite grasp. So be patient and keep up the positivity. Remember also that you are not there to give them the answers. You are there to help them discover and learn. Make sure you are asking open ended questions and get them to tell you what they have uncovered. They will love to give you a report on what they have learnt, perhaps you can help them pull together a Powerpoint that they can present. Maximise your resources There are lots of resources out there and your kids will probably know most of them. Depending on their age you will need to find the right online resource, but a few good examples include: BBC Bitesize which covers all age groups BBC Teach which has similar resources for all age groups Also, try using Skype, Zoom or Teams to help them keep up with their classmates, it could be a very lonely time for many children when they donât get to see their friends. You will do a great job This is completely alien to most of us so keep in mind that you will not always know what you are doing. You will need help and support from your teachers and you will do a great job. Try and add some structure to your day, include the kids in the decisions, and make it as fun as you can.

3 brilliant ways to be your vacation self in the office
3 splendid approaches to be your 'get-away self' in the workplace 3 splendid approaches to be your 'get-away self' in the workplace Today is my first day back busy working after an excursion. I'm marginally burned from the sun and in spite of movement delays, I can't quit grinning, recollecting a trip filled with old buddies, clear skies, and eight hours of rest. How would I keep this post-excursion shine going for whatever length of time that possible?Should I rip the bandaid off and head legitimately towards my unanswered inbox of fear? Should I have relinquished the most recent night of my excursion to prepare work for the arrival to the office?I went looking for master answers, and this is what I found.Remember your get-away self frequentlyWriting for Harvard Business Review, CEO Peter Bregman said that we have to join our get-away selves into our work selves: Consider what you generally loved about yourself on an excursion. Was it the casual way you tuned in to the individuals you were with? Perhaps it was the time you permitted your psyche to meander? Maybe it was simply the manner in which you drenched in every second since you weren't occupied by continually browsing email on your phone? In different words, carry the helpful island soul with you to the work area. You can't take home the sand, however you can bring home the mindset. That sentiment of achievement you felt when you figured out how to swim in the midst of a get-away? You can feel a comparative high in the event that you take up a side interest outside of work. A recent report found that accomplishing innovative non-work exercises encourages us recoup from work. Green says you can request that your partners send you visual cues of key things that occurred while you were out. For additional acknowledge, find them face to face - it's a hotter, increasingly human approach to cooperate, and you'll get the chance to share the pieces of your get-away that you loved. And before you start to answering to messages left and right, recollect: It's smarter to invest energy making up for lost time with work strings than to be the individual barging in on in with the ir spontaneous feeling on questions that were replied while they were away.Above all, Bregman advised utilizing the principal day back to relax, so you're not causing yourself superfluous pressure. The general purpose of an excursion is to recharge your energies and dispose of that pressure. Close downtime for suppers with associates and breaks, don't remain at work late and don't make yourself hopeless by endeavoring Inbox Zero your first day back, or you'll fix all your excursion benefits.Revisit your get-away memoriesAlthough scientists have discovered that the expectation of an outing gives us even more a high than trip retrospection, there's still an incentive in reflecting.Psychologists accept that recollecting your best get-away recollections - seeing old companions, seeing cool sights, discovering that cool thing you've been needing to attempt causes us convey that get-away cooperative attitude to the present. Recollecting the subtleties of our outing encourages us remember the positive experience and the positive sentiments we had at that point, brain research educator Sonja Lyubomirsky wrote in her book The Myths of Happiness. And realize that the post-get-away shine helps other people gleam as well. I began sharpening in the employments that I was extraordinarily situated to doand fabricated a group around everything else. It took me years to put resources into re-appropriating and I wish Id done it sooner instead of attempting to do everything myself. Today, my days are guided by how I need to feel and not simply feeling a captive to a plan for the day. I cut time for myself to implore, work out, ponder, tune in to digital broadcasts and appreciate some tea in the first part of the prior day in any event, contemplating contacting my telephone. I set aside a few minutes for everything that cause me to feel great and adjusted, which at that point makes me far superior at my particular employment. 6 Signs Its Time to Look for a New Job
6 Signs Itâs Time to Look for a New Job How long has it been since you met someone who started and ended his or her career at the same company? The days of working 40+ years for the same employer and retiring with a generous pension after years of company loyalty have been replaced with a new norm â" changing jobs every few years in constant pursuit of knowledge, challenge, and career satisfaction. According to a recent Bureau of Labor Statistics news release, those born between 1957 and 1964 held an average of 12.3 jobs between the ages of 18 and 52. Similarly, the median tenure for U.S. wage and salary workers is only 4.2 years. While numbers will vary depending on age, industry, and location, chances are that nearly everyone will change jobs at least a few times in his or her career. So barring layoffs and company closures, how should you know when itâs time to make a switch? Though the job market remains strong, competition is fierce and many employees may be reluctant to abandon the familiar for the unknown. While leaving an old job for a new one always involves a bit of uncertainty, there are some factors that make it worth the risk. Letâs look at a few situations that warrant taking a leap of faith in your career. Youâre Overworked As a business grows, so does the number of tasks that need to be completed in order to keep it running successfully. However, sometimes, in an effort to maximize profits, employers donât grow their staff as quickly as new tasks pile up, leaving them to be completed by current staff. When this happens, employees may find themselves taking on more and more duties outside their job description, leaving them feeling frustrated, overwhelmed or disengaged. Of course, some added job duties can be expected in any role. However, if months or years pass and responsibilities continue to add up, the employerâs unwillingness to increase headcount and assign realistic workloads may prompt a job search. Your Salary Hasnât Increased As your workload increases and you continue to prove your value to your employer, your salary should increase accordingly. The U.S. inflation rate typically fluctuates between 1.9 and 2.1 percent annually. Therefore, employees who donât see at least this increase in their paychecks each year are actually making less than they did in previous years. Obviously, most employers want to know that employees can handle their job duties and make a positive contribution to the company before handing out raises. However, if you continue to receive positive feedback on your performance, yet your salary has not kept pace with your assigned responsibilities or the cost of living, a job change may be in order. You Donât Feel Challenged Job hopping doesnât have the same negative stigma it once did, mainly because most employers now prioritize a progressive record of responsibility and challenge over multiple years of tenure with the same employer. If youâre not being challenged regularly at your current job, itâs up to you to seek out a role that will push you to accomplish new goals, acquire new skills and exceeds expectations on a regular basis rather than simply performing the same tasks day in and day out. You Donât Feel Appreciated According to a recent study, 66 percent of employees said they would likely leave their job if they felt unappreciated, while 76 percent of millennials said the same. There are a number of different motivators that drive employees in their careers. Some seek money, some seek challenges, some seek work/life balance, but everyone wants to feel appreciated for the work they do. Employers that fail to recognize workers for work well done will struggle with employee retention as employees gravitate to companies that foster a culture of appreciation. You Lack of Job Satisfaction The average employee spends 13 years and two months of their lives at work, or around a quarter of their time during their working years. This is a frightening statistic when combined with the fact that 80 percent of employees are dissatisfied with their jobs. Do you really want to spend 13+ years doing something you find unsatisfying? The first step is to determine the source of your dissatisfaction. Is it your manager, your job duties, your industry, a lack of work/life balance? All of these can be changed, though some may take longer than others (i.e., changing industries may be more difficult than finding a new manager). Life is too short to spend years in an unfulfilling career. Your Work Environment Is Toxic Probably the most urgent reason to change jobs is a toxic work environment. Unfortunately, there are managers and companies that employ harsh language, abusive behavior or threats as a means of motivation. While this may achieve short-term results, it inevitably leads to high employee turnover, disengagement, indifference or apathy to work quality, and a work culture so stressful that it can cause a number of health issues. Most employees who have the misfortune of experiencing a toxic work environment will say that any sacrifice is worth escaping. Few people claim their job is perfect. Thereâs always room for an employer to improve, just as there is for an employee. However, most organizations arenât subject to an employee evaluation like employees are to a performance review. If an employee is given the opportunity to provide feedback to a manager, issues may take time to resolve or may require changes from company leaders. As a shorter job tenure becomes more widely accepted, employees are finding less reason to wait months or years for their job situation to improve. Instead, they are actively seeking out better opportunities in order to further their career. Employers must now offer much more than just a paycheck to attract and retain top talent. For those currently employed and on the job hunt, what other reasons have you experienced that prompted your search?

Recruiters 6 Ways to Build Real Relationships with Virtual People
Recruiters 6 Ways to Build Real Relationships with Virtual People When I started recruiting a little over ten years ago, I always looked forward to meeting candidates in person as they arrived for interviews. It was mostly curiosity, but I also wanted them to feel welcome and begin building a relationship regardless if we were destined to become colleagues. Today, as our geographies continue to expand and technology connects people instantaneously, I no longer see my candidates in person. And it has drastically impacted my relationships â" for the better. What was once a handshake and few minutes of small talk about the candidateâs ability to find a good parking spot has transformed into long-term, interactive relationships. Social media and web technologies give us the ability to communicate and build real relationships with people weâve never met. Much like with in-person relationships, trust can be built, mutual interests recognized, and bonds formed without ever meeting an individual face-to-face. These arenât just ârelationshipsâ in the sense that weâre connected on LinkedIn and see each otherâs updates on a daily basis, but people that I consider friendsâ"I know their kidsâ names, their birthdays and all that we have in common. In fact, I once co-owned and operated a company with a business partner I had never met in person. We had 25 employees, none of whom we ever met in person, and we ultimately sold our business to a publishing company whoâ"you guessed itâ"we never met in person. These people, my former colleagues, have become close friends of mine. As recruiters and talent developers, our business is inherently about building relationships; but our daily work is increasingly being completed online. Instead of user groups or conferences, candidates are registering for webinars. They are spending more time online and expect to be engaged this way. And yet, many recruiters struggle with forming strong, online relationships. For those looking to turn a corner, here a several tips for forming real relationships in an increasingly virtual world: 1) Be personal: Self-disclosure is a fine line, particularly in professional relationships. But common ground is so essential to even professional relationships that your connections need to truly get to know you in order to give you their trust. It can be something as simple as your love for cats (or dogs), your favorite soccer team or even your passion for cooking; being personal can go a long way in relating to your connections and knocking down barriers or hesitancies. 2) Be helpful: Small, unexpected acts of kindness can act as a building block of virtual relationships. In person, it can be simple acts like holding open a door, picking up lunch or buying treats for your colleagues (You canât lose with Thin Mints). Online, it might be taking someoneâs survey, re-tweeting a unique Twitter post, or donating a small amount to a personâs meaningful cause. Be helpful, but also be sincere. 3) Be rich: Using rich media like posting pictures and videos instead of just text messaging, for example, helps increase emotional connection with your audience. The more you showcase your ârealness, the deeper the connection youâll have with your network. 4) Be yourself: Just like in real life, your online persona canât be all things to all people. The honesty and transparency will be appreciated. 5) Be consistent: Using social media to recruit is a journey, not a destination. Too many recruiters simply throw out LinkedIn status updates with jobs and wonder why theyâre not successful. You canât disappear from your connectionâs consciousness then reappear when you need a candidate. Your goal should be to always stay in their consciousness, so when they realize it is time for a career change or need a change in scenery, you are the resolution that comes to mind. 6) Be engaged: Although tweets and status updates connect you to your network, they merely set up the ability to connect with someone one-on-one; direct, personal engagement lays the groundwork for a relationship built around trust, honesty and openness. Interact with your network on an individual level, not just an aggregate one. As a recruiter, youâll likely have to initiate direct, personal conversation; if someone posts on Twitter about cats, direct your next cat-related tweet at them. Silly perhaps, but relationships wonât develop if built solely around, âLooking for a new career opportunity? Apply here today!â As technologies improve and people become more accustomed to building virtual relationships, recruiters need to master the techniques of building them effectively. With frequently changing technologies, this isnât a natural process for anyone. But by transitioning offline relationship-building techniques to the online world, you can grow your virtual network into one filled with valuable relationships. Modernize Your Recruitment Marketing for Gen Z
Modernize Your Recruitment Marketing for Gen Z Every generation to enter the workforce has influenced recruiting strategy, and Gen Z is no different. Whatâs the new competitive edge with these diverse, tech-savvy candidates entering the workforce? Recruitment marketing. Why Recruitment Marketing Is Nonnegotiable Recruitment marketing involves developing and communicating a value proposition to candidates much like marketers do with consumers. Itâs a 30-year-old concept whose time has come. Hereâs why: More so than any other prior generation, Gen Zers (ages 7 to 22 in 2019) approach the world as consumers. Theyâre digital-age kids, both in their own use of technology and in the way the modern world works around them. A recent study found that in their daily conversations, they talk about products, services and brands 33% more than people over age 21. To be candidate-centric with your Gen Z hiring, you need a recruitment marketing approach. Todayâs candidate-driven talent market gives Gen Z lots of choices. Capturing talent depends on creating engagement quickly, then building an emotional connection, and finally, trust in you as their best choice for employment. Recruitment marketing creates a differentiating hiring experience. It also creates the foundation for trust by building an emotional connection. Recruitment marketing helps recruiters build higher ratios of qualified candidates in the talent pipeline. It supports improvement in key hiring metrics like speed to hire and new hire retention. Recruitment marketing began when TA professionals started using multiple points of contact and targeted messaging to help candidates understand their employer brand and value proposition. Many of these strategies have become baseline best practices in recruiting. Todayâs recruitment marketing approaches need to evolve to capture the attention of modern young candidates. Modern Recruitment Marketing Essentials Modern recruitment marketing is about personalization, continuous candidate engagement, and a digital hiring experience. Hereâs how you can align with Gen Z candidates: Personalize your EVP for Gen Z. Your employer value proposition (EVP) describes the experience of working for your organization, and whatâs in it for potential new hires. In this age of targeted, personalized outreach, your EVP should speak to Gen Z. It needs to answer questions such as Why would you, Gen Z candidate, choose us? and What does our employment experience offer that Gen Z candidates want? Start with your EVP for all employees â" the elements that are already part of your culture and employment experience. Then, bubble up aspects that are a priority for Gen Z. Data points like these can help inform your work: 74% of Gen Z strongly believes work should have a greater purpose. 84% of Gen Z identify the potential for career progression and growth as their top priority when looking for an employer. 8 in 10 Gen Z job seekers would like employers to help them develop job-specific and soft skills. 70% of Gen Z say they are motivated by money. Sources: Monster, EY, Staffing Industry Analysts Donât stop with âApplyâ. Old-school recruitment marketing focused on getting candidates into the funnel. In the modern, candidate-centric environment, strategic recruitment marketing continues through every stage of the hiring cycle. Arguably, the interview experience is the most important step in this journey. Remember, in todayâs candidate-driven market, candidates are interviewing you as much as you are interviewing them. According to Talent Board research, 32% of candidates say they exited the interview process because of poor recruiter rapport. Up from just 11% one year ago. The top candidates are on a journey through your hiring process. Their experience should be consistent from application to onboarding. Adjust the emphasis of your messaging at different stages: Focus on your employment experience and what candidates can expect from your recruitment process in the early stages of engagement. During the interview process, show them you care about them by offering the type of high tech, high touch experience they expect. As candidates move from offer acceptance through onboarding, emphasize the long-term employment experience, and what they can expect as they start working with their manager and team. Choose the right technology. A digital hiring experience is what this digital generation expects, but simply being online wonât drive hiring results. Gen Zers approach communication and technology differently than their older colleagues. They prefer video over text content when theyâre looking for answers. They would rather text than pick up the phone most of the time. And theyâre way past Facebook. Gen Zâs social platforms of choice are YouTube, Snapchat and Instagram. You can share your EVP messaging with Gen Z more easily by using video interviews and on-demand text interviews in your workflow. Finally, keep in mind recruitment marketing is one part of the equation. Candidate engagement has its roots in your messaging and communication strategies, but Gen Z needs to feel your personal attention for that engagement to grow. Savvy recruiters weave recruitment marketing and relationship-building together to create a modern, candidate-centric hiring experience. What Qualifications to Look For in a Technical Resume Writer
What Qualifications to Look For in a Technical Resume WriterIf you are looking for a good, qualified technical resume writer, it is important to know that these people come in all different shapes and sizes. Each of them has their own unique talent and expertise when it comes to writing resumes. Some can write a resume in under thirty minutes while others have to spend a lot more time on the writing process. While the abilities of the different potential technical writers can be varied, there are some basic requirements that you should take into consideration when choosing one. First, they should have years of experience in the field they will be writing for. While experience is not a requirement in order to choose a writer, experience gives an impression of reliability and competence.Resumes are usually written for different purposes. They can be for getting a job or for continuing employment. A good resume should give employers a sense of how the candidate will fit into their compan y. If a new hire is to be hired, they must have a detailed description of their previous work experience. It is also important to know what the particular employer is looking for when they read your resume. This is because you want to make sure that you do not give them an unappealing description of your career or your education. This will only make your life more difficult as an applicant.Next, make sure that they understand what is expected of them. While they will be writing the resume, they should be prepared to answer any questions the employer may have. By having this ability, they will be able to give the best possible resume that will stand out from the rest.Technical resumes should include information about skills and education that make the person an asset to the company. If the applicant has skills that are necessary, it is important to make sure that those skills are included. This will help todetermine if the job is in fact a very good match for the applicant. The writer should also be able to summarize the main points of the resume. For many employers, it is not enough to simply read the whole thing. They want a summary that they can review in order to get a quick idea of what kind of candidate the company is looking for.A technical resume writer can help to identify the kind of skills the employer is looking for. The skills they should highlight include any experience that relates to the job. They should also mention any qualifications that relate to the position. This can help to make sure that the skills and knowledge that are being presented are accurate.
